Answers to all your PPI claims questions if you are in or have been in a DMP or IVA or Bankrupty
Can you make a claim for a PPI with a credit card you got after you were discharged from bankruptcy? I went bankrupt in 2009 and was discharged 5 month later. A few month after discharge I got a credit card can I claim a PPI on this without having to hand over any money to the OR? Thanks. T
Hi there tamzina and welcome

As far as I am aware you should be able to keep all the compensation if you are successful in your claim for PPI. If you were still paying towards your debts with a IPA then this would be different but as it has been a few years now I assume not.

Also as the credit card was not one included in your bankruptcy you do not need to worry about the offset rule where the lenders can keep your compensation to repay the debts.

I would check that the credit card company is not the same company as any lenders you included in your bankruptcy.
