This week the AIB (Accountant in Bankruptcy - Scotland's Insolvency Service) released their quarterly statistics for personal insolvency.
Many people will be surprised that, compared to the same period last year, the statistics are broadly unchanged in total. There have been a number of forecasts recently that insolvency is likely to grow significantly this year.
The number of trust deeds fell slightly compared to last year, and the number of bankruptcies increased a little. The total figure was up by 2%.
The Debt Arrangement Scheme continues to pick up momentum. The figures have increased by 100% compared to the same quarter last year.
