When making a Subject Access Request (SAR) for your paperwork/file work from banks do they definitely require a £10 cheque made out to them? or they might not require it (ie will the send the paperwork/filework without receiving £10) and Whom is the cheque to be made out to, usually?

Since the introduction of the new data protection rules (GDPR) in May 2018 (which you may have heard about) creditors can no longer make a charge for a SAR. As such you do not have to pay £10 to any of the banks you request a SAR from.
