Discussion and questions about what to expect when your IVA is finished

Im thinking of claiming back PPI, if entitled, from my bank loans, cards etc. I was in an IVA which finished in August last year but during the IVA some of the debts were sold to someone called Max Recovery. Can I make a claim and who would be it against in this instance?

Hello Michael. You can certainly make a claim for PPI mis-selling if you have finished your IVA. Have a look at this article for more information about this: PPI after IVA.

In terms of who you make the claim against if the debt was sold, I think you need to still claim against the original creditor so you will need the original account details.

Hi there Michael

As Carla has rightly said you can certainly make PPI claims after your IVA is completed. However do have a look at the article that Carla highlighted as it describes the process and the likelihood of you receiving any compensation due.

If any of your debts have been sold on then yes, you would always make the claim against the original creditor who sold you the PPI.

Hi there Michael

As far as I am aware, if some of your original debts were sold to the likes of Max Recovery then this should increase the possibility that you will keep any compensation awarded as I understand the banks arguement that the money can be used to offset their unpaid debt is far weaker.
